    I am here to tell a report on the sub species of tigers Which is what my speech will be based on.

    Many of these
    tigers will not survive in the next forty years due to the killing that us
    humans have caused. Our tigers are only 1411 are left. Tiger sub species have not been as important to us humans as whether or not the species.
    Nevertheless a great deal of
    information on the future of the tiger can be learned from a study of subspecies.

    It is amazing to me that people want numbers of tigers. Process is the
    important aspect. If I say that the number of Sumatra tigers today is between
    300 and 400, it doesn’t tell one that the 1975 census was 1500. Therefore saying
    that the Bali tiger, theCaspian tiger, the Javan tiger, the Manchurian tiger,
    and the Southwest Chinese tiger are now extinct doesn’t give you aportrait of
    the process of extinction. The Javan tiger became extinct in the 1970’s in a set
    aside special national park under full protection.

    The Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 is being amended to provide for constituting of the National Tiger Conservation Authority responsible for implementation of Project Tiger Plan to protect endangered tigers.

    Politicans and bureaucrats seem to be obsessed with numbers and not
    trends. Let me illustrate this with tigers. There are frequently requests as to
    the exact number of tigers, or a tiger subspecies left in the world. That tells
    you that there are people that care. But there are so little tigers left that
    we can not even keep track of them.

      Actually the jungle saves both environment and tigers. Now, man destroys jungles, resulting in environment degradation & conflict with tigers (AND other denizens of the jungle).

      The foremost duty of every human being should be to help in saving (and also increasing) the forest cover, which will automatically improve the situation of both the environment and the tigers.

  132. I have a very good idea to stop poaching of our tigers. Keep the suspected poachers in zoo for some years till the tiger population is enough for survival.

  243. Not only is tiger a beautiful animal but it is also the indicator of the forest’s health. Saving the tiger means we save the forest since tiger cannot live in places where trees have vanished and in turn secure food and water for all.

    If we make sure tigers live, we have to make sure that deer, antelope and all other animals that the tiger eats (its prey base) live. To make sure that these herbivores live, we must make sure that all the trees, grass and other plants that these prey animals need for food are protected. In this way, the whole forest gets saved! Saving the tiger means saving its entire forest kingdom with all the other animals in it.

    Also forests catch and help store rainwater and protect soils. In this way we protect our rivers and recharge groundwater sources. Areas with less trees lead to floods, killing people and destroying homes. It takes away the precious soil, leaving behind a wasteland. The soil jams up our lakes and dams, reducing their ability to store water. By destroying the tiger’s home, we not only harm tigers, but also ourselves.

    The tiger thus becomes the symbol for the protection of all species on our earth since it is at the top of the food chain. This is why we sometimes call the tiger, an apex predator, an indicator of our ecosystem’s health
